3-D Perturbations in Conformal Turbulence
The effects of three-dimensional perturbations in two-dimensional turbulence are investigated, through a conformal field theory approach. We compute scaling exponents for the energy spectra of enstrophy and energy cascades, in a strong coupling limit, and compare them to the values found in recent experiments. The extension of unperturbed conformal turbulence to the present situation is perform...
متن کاملComparison of three different techniques in parotid gland tumors using three dimensional conformal radiation therapy
Introduction: Background: Radiotherapy of parotid tumors is achieved by different radiotherapy techniques. So they deliver the dose to organs at risk such as contralateral parotid, temporal lobe & spinal cord. The consequences of high dose to OARs are xerostomia, Temporal lobe necrosis and loss of hearing. Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare different treatment tech...
متن کاملConformal Models of Two–Dimensional Turbulence
Polyakov recently showed how to use conformal field theory to describe two-dimensional turbulence. Here we construct an infinite hierarchy of solutions, both for the constant enstrophy flux cascade, and the constant energy flux cascade. We conclude with some speculations concerning the stability and physical meaning of these solutions.
متن کاملBottleneck effect in three-dimensional turbulence simulations.
At numerical resolutions around 512(3) and above, three-dimensional energy spectra from turbulence simulations begin to show noticeably shallower spectra than k(-5/3) near the dissipation wave number ("bottleneck effect"). This effect is shown to be significantly weaker in one-dimensional spectra such as those obtained in wind tunnel turbulence. The difference can be understood in terms of the ...
متن کاملPredictions on Two - dimensional Turbulence by Conformal Field Theory
A generalized theory of two-dimensional isotropic turbulence is developed based on con-formal symmetry. A number of minimal models of conformal turbulence are solved under an extended constraint including both the enstrophy cascade by Kraichnan and the discontinuity of vorticity by Saffman. There are an infinite number of solutions which fall into two different categories. An explicit relation ...
